General Information
The Child Development Program within the Department of Child Care and Youth Services is an associate degree program. The Child Development Program trains child development experts who take an active part in educational and supportive studies and practices in the field of development and education of infants, children and adolescents aged 0-18 who are developing normally, have special needs and are at risk from a developmental and social perspective. Our students are trained to know the developmental characteristics of children, to implement educational programs prepared by professional experts, and to provide services for the healthy development and best education of children. Tarsus University Child Development program has the mission of producing graduates (training professionals) who take an active part in projects in line with the needs of the country by using contemporary approaches related to children, families, educators and society, and who implement and disseminate these projects for the high benefit of children and families in all segments of society. During the education; Academic knowledge is provided at a high level through vocational courses such as Child Development, Special Education in Early Childhood, Child Recognition and Evaluation, Mother-Child Health and Nutrition, Child Psychology and Mental Health, Family Education and Participation, Child and Play, Drama, Children's Literature. Our university's general elective courses, which support the versatile development of our students by gaining experience in personal and professional skills through applied courses (entrepreneurship, effective and eloquent speaking, communication, project management, etc.), provide well-equipped professional staff needed by children, families and society to the field.
Aims and Objectives of the Program
Child Development program; It is an associate degree program that aims to provide professional staff who can provide quality services in the field of development and education of babies, children and adolescents in the 0-18 age group who are developing normally, have special needs and are at risk from a developmental and social perspective. The program also aims to raise child development professionals who can prepare and implement programs together with other field experts, use technological and scientific methods and techniques, adopt an eclectic approach and adhere to ethical values, so that children can reach the highest level of their developmental potential under all circumstances.
In addition, it aims to improve students' effective communication skills, acquire problem-solving skills, and graduate as productive and hard-working individuals.
Admission Conditions
The basic admission conditions are for candidates to meet the conditions determined by ÖSYM, to be a high school graduate and to have received sufficient points from the University Student Selection Examination.
Graduation Requirements
Students who complete 120 ECTS/ECTS with a weighted GPA of “2.00” out of 4.00 are eligible to graduate. Graduates are awarded an associate degree in Child Development Program.

Programs that can be passed with the Vertical Transfer Exam
